Fire Engineering Design, Passive Fire Design and Construction Monitoring
ABOUT THE PROJECT
LFE undertook fire engineering design, passive fire design and construction monitoring on the $17 million refurbishment of the Puawānanga Outpatients facility at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.
The project brief was to relieve pressure on the main hospital, while creating a functional, welcoming, and built for the future facility.
As with many older buildings, shortfalls in compliance with respect to fire safety were identified and addressed while navigating tight deadlines, budget constraints and design limitations.
